- Incoloy or Stainless Steel Sheath: Selected heavy wall tubing gives maximum heat transfer, high compaction and is corrosion resistant.
- Ceramic Potting: High density material locks the magnesium oxide in place, acting like an insulator between pin and sheath and also resists contamination.
- Leads: Flexible, non-asbestos fiberglass leads, swaged internally connected.
- Swaging: Compression of the magnesium oxide ensuring longer life.
- Centering: MGO spacer precisely centers the wire wound core, eliminating hot spots.
High-Temp Industries medium watt density cartridge heaters are recommended whenever the performance of a high watt density heater is not fully needed. The construction of our medium watt density cartridge heaters utilize the same high quality material as in our high watt density heaters, except instead of a ceramic core with 80/20 nichrome wire wound on the exterior, we use the same 80/20 nichrome wire in a spiral wound design threaded thru a ceramic core with multiple channels internally. Our medium watt density cartridge heaters are an excellent choice when utilized in a low vibration environment where an internal thermocouple is not required. These heaters are able to achieve temperatures up to 900 degrees F and are an excellent choice for cartridge heaters greater than 8” in length where watt per square inch is less than 60wsq².
